This talk will review literature published in 2019 relating to changes in respiratory care. Small molecule treatment for cystic fibrosis continues to provide financial and ethical challenges. New data brings the potential age for treatment down to 6. Smoking also remains bad for all children - data now shows that maternal smoking in pregnancy (even 1 cigarette a day) doubles the risk of sudden infant death. Vaping may be causing concerns as well. Further data on non-invasive ventilatory support in NICU is available comparing nCPAP against HFNC. And finally - should we be giving Salbutamol to patients coming in for tonsillectomy?
