Design principles of protein-DNA interactions in embryonic stem cells

David Lukatsky
Chemistry, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel

In my talk I will address a question of how the genome-wide specificity of transcription factors (TFs) is established in embryonic stem cells. I will propose a mechanism that the TF-DNA binding specificity can be statistically described using the two parameters characterizing repetitive DNA sequence elements: the DNA repeat symmetry type and strength, respectively. Using the recently published ChIP-seq data, I will demonstrate the power and simplicity of the proposed approach.
