On-Sight, a joint venture of the Weizmann Institute and NYU school of Medicine, has developed AI based software that revolutionizes point of care diagnosis using ultrasound imaging, by eliminating the need for a sonographer. With On-Sight’s software, any ultrasound-imaging device can become an automated image analysis system with navigation support for optimal image capture.

Opportunity

Due to its low cost and small size, ultrasound is the most readily available imaging modality in point of care. However, ultrasound image acquisition and analysis require special expertise, which limits its use.

The product/Service

The product is software only that can be downloaded to any ultrasound imaging device. This software transforms any ultrasound imaging system to a "smart" system that can be operated by non sonographers with as good as performance as the expert. The software first guides the user to acquire a canonical view image (i.e. 4 chamber view), than assures the user when a proper image is obtained, thirdly it detects the relevant organ (i.e. LV), than analyses the relevant physiological parameter (i.e. EF) and lastly enables a channel for a consultation with a remote physician if nessesary.

All anatomies that can de detected withultrasound by the expert can be also detected by the software.

The values created for the non expert are: Available; Objective; Standardized.

The value created for the expert: Objective; Standardized; Faster; More accurate

Medical significance

By having a "smart" ultrasund in point of care, such as an ambulance, enabeling the user (i.e. a paramedic) to peform echo, cases such PE and tamponade among other, can be idetified, proper treatemnt can be adminestered and correct transportation can be defined. With such, lives can be saved.

Target market

The target market is the emergency market: emergency departments, ambulances, urgect care units etc.

Team

The team is a joint effort of the Weizmann institute in Israel, NYU school of medicine and deep learning software engineers from On-Sight Medical.
