BioGiv Excubator, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel

The Hebrew University has developed a new and successful model for supporting early-stage biotech and biomed startups. Our unique BioGiv Excubator model is based on providing individual lab space and shared equipment rooms, while facilitating access to all of the Hebrew University core facilities, including 3D printing, nanotechnology services, access to the animal model facility and many more services, under a single IP-free contract.

The Hebrew University core facilities personnel are available to train our BioGiv affiliated researchers in operating specialized equipment, designing and analyzing experiments and implementing research methodologies in standard operating procedures (SOP).

BioGiv also provides a range of business development and mentoring services by key opinion leaders from the biomed and biotech world.

BioGiv Excubator had started its activity at the Hi-Tech Village in Givat-Ram campus on January 2018, with the support of the Jerusalem Development Authority, and is currently housing 11 companies from the food, diagnostics, medical devices, and drug development fields.

We believe that the BioGiv Excubator model enables better starting point and will expedite the development of new technologies, leading to expansion and strengthening of the biotech sector in Israel.
