The problem with existing procedure is the difficulty in creating circumferential, gap free and permanent lesion using current solutions that require consistent and stable contact with the tissue of the beating heart and provide no real-time quality feedback of lesion created. As a result the procedure heavily relays on physician skills and experience, requires extensive training and steep learning curve, yields average poor results that vary significantly between operators, and leads to prolong procedure time.
Our solution is based on proprietary ultrasound technology that allows contactless circumferential lesion with real-time lesion detection with a single catheter. Eliminating the need for tissue contact significantly simplifies the procedure and eliminates the need for extensive experience associated with catheter steering and manipulation. Providing real-time
lesion detection capabilities will eliminate the current guess work associated with lesion formation as tissue thickness and properties are visualized and automatically drive energy level used to effectively ablate the tissue.
Ultrasound technology offers patients higher safety profile and more effective procedure outcome as the amount of energy used for ablation can be adequately determined based on tissue thickness and actual change in tissue properties detected in real-time.
