Pedagogical training is one of the basic components of the teacher training system in Israel (Hammer-Budnaro, 2014). It is an interpersonal process, during which a skilled person with experience in teaching serves as a role model for students who are preparing for teaching. This pedagogical guidance plays several important roles in teacher training, including: Accompanying the learning process of students who are trained to teach, and creating the pedagogical knowledge infrastructure that links the theory taught in the academic context with the practical experience acquired in practical experience (Williams, 2013); helping to analyze various teaching situations while encouraging and developing reflective discourse; promoting students` conduct and behavior so that they will be able to properly carry out the required teaching tasks; and, promoting personal growth and professional development (Fairstein, 2015; Flavian & Toussia-Cohen, 2009). The pedagogical guide, also referred to as an instructional facilitator, is the executor of these tasks, and as such plays a pivotal and especially significant role in developing students` behavior and professional identity as they become new teachers. The accompaniment of new teaching facilitators has taken place at The Wingate Academic College for many years. In the 1980s and early 1990s, a new teaching instructor was assigned to a veteran teaching supervisor who observed the lessons under his or her guidance, provided feedback, and resolved classroom and personal dilemmas. Later, in the mid-1990s, the new instructors participated in an accompanying course. The course included professional training given by a senior instructor with many years of experience, and emphasized the pedagogical content in the training. In 2019, The Wingate Academic College allocated resources for the training of the instructors for the new teaching, opening an annual escort course. This course is intended for each new teaching instructor who began his or her work in the current year or earlier. The purpose of this paper is to introduce readers to the process of guiding new instructors, and describes the professional relationship between a new instructor and student-teacher Coordinator and Coordinator of the course.
