This study is an examination of the activity of protest poetry in Israel at the beginning of the twenty-first century, which included the writing and activity of individuals, groups of poets, journals and great interest in political poetry in the Israeli media. During this period there was a great deal of interest in poetry, and especially political poetry, unique poetry events took place - including demonstrations by poets, public activities were held aimed at assisting poets and poetry to promote various public issues, including the status of the poets themselves. This study examines the dynamics of a group of artists as a deliberate use of cultural capital in the political field and of the influence of activities in the political field on the development of the field of poetry. The study was conducted by examining the poetry journals that came out at the time, especially those that began to come out at that time, examining the activities of groups of poets, interviews with those who were active at the time and reviewing press articles and even enlightened articles published on the subject. The conclusions of this study are that the formation of a community of poetry writers, and especially writers on poetry, is at least part of the significant growth in the interest and activity of protest poetry. Also, because the growing interest in protest singing has led to great interest in poetry in general.
