Digital storytelling is a method of teaching and learning language structures on a par with developing creative thinking. As an instrument in pedagogy, it fosters students’ involvement in the learning process as well as helps the teacher to ignite creativity and channel it into the right direction. Digital storytelling consists of the following steps: warm-up exercises and general discussion, writing a script, designing a project and presenting it to the class. Thus, it includes speaking (individual, public, argumentative) and writing (grammar, punctuation, style). Depending on the aims (teaching grammar or vocabulary) the emphasis is placed on the first or the latter. The psychological impact is recognizable as the results confirm that group work on a project diffuses the tension created by the distance studying and the difficulty of the study materials. The research gives an insight into how digital storytelling can be applied in teaching English as a foreign language.
