Our research investigated if newborns of mothers with pathological / borderline GCT and normal OGTT have higher birth weight similar to infants of diabetic mothers. Methods: We reviewed 1500 deliveries. That were divided in three groups: Group A included newborns of mothers with pathological/borderline GCT and normal OGTT. Group B included newborns of diabetic mothers. Group C the control group included newborns of nondiabetic mothers. Results: Group A included 105 newborns. Group B included 27 newborns of diabetic mothers, pre and gestational diabetes. Group C included 1368 newborns of nondiabetic mothers. In group A birthweight was significantly higher (M=3605.58, SD=373.21) compared to birthweight in the control group (M=3376.04, SD=326.64) (P < 0.001). There was no significant difference in birthweight of newborns in group A (newborns of mothers with pathologic/ borderline GCT and normal OGTT) and group B (Newborns of diabetic mothers) (M=3491.30, SD=381.81), (P =0.409).
