Introduction: Lyme borreliosis is endemic disease in Western Ukraine. Infections are caused by species of the bacterial spirochete family, Borreliaceae. The early forms of Lyme disease are often accompanied by a skin symptoms (erythema migrans).

The study aims to investigate the clinical symptoms of the child with an erythematous form of Lyme borreliosis, depending on the disease course.

Research Methods: 150 сhildren aged 3-12 years with Lyme borreliosis (LB) were under supervision at the infection department of Ternopil Regional Children’s Hospital. The average age of the surveyed was (6.6±2.9) years. Antibodies to B. burgdorferi s. l. IgM and/or IgG were determined by ELISA.

Results and Discussion: Skin symptoms were often accompanied by headache, fever, chills, migratory pain in muscles and bones, severe weakness, and fatigue. There is generalized lymphadenopathy in 3 children, sore throat, dry cough. In 3 patients, we observed acute tonsillitis, one child lasted about 1 month. The study of mucous microbiocenosis showed that it was dominated by facultative-anaerobic bacteria. On the site near the site of the tick bite was found mainly coco flora - Staphylococcus aureus , Micrococcus luteus, and gram-positive Bacillus spp.

Conclusion: To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of an child with the severe acute tonsillitis caused by B.Burgdorfery.
