The Wiley life achievement award lecture: Polymers and their assemblies under confinement: from brushes and coronas (the good kind) to biolubrication

Jacob Klein
Department of Molecular Chemistry and Materials Science, Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel

Polymers at interfaces and confined between surfaces control myriad material properties of biomedical and technological interest. Here I describe some of my work in this area over the years, from the dynamics of polymers under topological constraints to properties of planar polymer brushes and of polymer coronas surrounding nanoparticles, up to very recent findings in related to biolubrication, tissue engineering and osteoarthritis
