Narratives about the Repatriations of the Rybnitser Rebbe and his Followers from the USSR

The paper will be devoted to the narratives (oral and written) about the repatriation of the Rybnitsa Rebbe and his followers from the USSR in the early 1970s. Unfortunately, we do not have any archival documents that could shed light on the repatriation of the Rebbe. However, we have a large amount of oral text about the repatriation of the Rebbe from Rybnitsa, his life in Israel and his moving from Israel to the United States. Repatriation narratives can be divided into several groups. A number of plots are found only in written texts, for example, stories about obtaining documents and funds for travel. In oral texts, there are stories about a miraculous border crossing, etc. The typology of narratives will be discussed in the paper.
