בהרצאה זו אסקור את פרוייקט ה״מפה,״ הגהותיו של ר׳ משה איסרלש (הרמ״א) לשולחן ערוך, תוך השוואה למשפטנים בני המאה הט״ז, ולנסיונותיהם ליצור קודיפיקציה של הטקסט המשפטי. אבקש להציג פרספקטיבה לקרוא דרכה את ה״מפה,״ לא כסדרה של הערות גליון פרשניות אלא כאימוץ של פרוייקט ארגון הידע של השלחן ערוך.

This presentation examines the project of Mapah, R` Moshe Isserles` glosses to Shulḥan Arukh, by comparison to 16th-century humanist jurists and their codificatory aims. The result is a perspective on Mapah, not as interpretative or argumentative scholarly marginalia, but instead as adopting the larger organizational project of the work he is glosssing.
