This talk will discuss the kinds of textiles used on Passover, including so-called Passover banners and other long cloths used to decorate the seder table. The iconography and technique of these objects has never been studied before. The questions of the geographical dispersal of the custom will be addressed, along with the presentation of a unique and previously unpublished 19th century cloth used during the seder. Some more contemporary textiles will be discussed as well.
