Response: The Challenges of Schriftbildlichkeit/Iconotextuality for Digital Editions of Jewish Esoteric Manuscripts

My presentation will be a response to the papers of the session that will also relate to my own efforts to pioneer approachs to the specific challenges of editing kabbalistic manuscripts that feature complex text-image relations and graphical metastructures. I will also discuss the potential impact of automated manuscript transcription and text reuse technologies on the study of Kabbalah in the very near future.
