We often speak about 21st -century learners and the knowledge and skills our students will need in the future. What about teachers? What instructional skills and core competencies do 21st -century teachers require to teach during these challenging times? The coronavirus of 2020 has imposed, dictated and prioritized the importance of teachers` pedagogical creativity skills. These skills are defined by the implementation of new methods, technologies and techniques in the educational experiences and opportunities that we craft and design for our students.
This workshop introduces a CEFR aligned task based language learning model for creating engaging educational experiences that will encourage students to work in collaborative teams and negotiate meaning whether in online lessons or the physical classroom. Participants will learn about the types of materials and contexts that lend themselves to these tasks. They will learn the steps required to prepare, organize and implement the activities. A discussion focused on feedback and assessment of the students` work will follow.
