Romanian Cultural Studies is a field gaining prestige and extending into academia. This presentation represents a case study on philosophy and practice of teaching Romanian culture, language and civilization at the University of Skopje, North Macedonia. After identifying difficulties in understanding the new language the author will point out the importance and prevalence of cross-cultural studies in approaching, learning and teaching Romanian in Macedonan context. Being both Balkan languages and sharing some dialectal features of Latin provenance both languages display a multitude of similar grammatical, lexical and anthropological motifs denoting a cultural unity and a linguistic league.
