Today`s teaching environment is increasingly stressful; large classes, EPIC reforms to implement, as well as the physical and emotional restrictions the COVID pandemic has created. All of this has impacted our energy, creativity, production, and most definitely our wellbeing. So how do we move forward in a professional way that promotes agency, professionalism, and wellbeing at the same time? In a word, `assessment`. Traditionally the word `assessment` conjures up feelings of stress, however, with a shift in focus, this tool can actually help empower us as teachers. During today`s session we will discuss and explore the ways peer assessment and self-assessment can help us set personal and professional goals, objectives, and boundaries, and mostly importantly nurture our wellbeing.
