A new national platform for core facilities to serve as a force multiplier of scientific research in Israel

Modern research relies increasingly on the incorporation of innovative technologies and collaborative work. Core facilities play an important role in fulfilling those challenges by offering scientists centralized access to specialized expertise and cutting-edge technologies. To economize the use of limited resources, the scientific community has become more reliant on core facilities to maintain its competitive edge. Israel Research Core Facilities (IRCF), was established as Knowledge Center which features a comprehensive website with a nation-wide database of all scientific services available in the Cores. In parallel, it is creating networks of the professionals that work in cores that is meant to develop the proficiency of core personnel by sharing knowledge, expertise and developing training curricula. The knowledge center provides a directory to the expert’s and their technology making them accessible to all users so as to foster collaborations between academia, hospitals, research institutions and industry. These activities will maximize the research support potential of cores for the benefit of the entire Israeli ecosystem. IRCF is expected to be a force multiplier for future scientific research in Israel.
