Take the garbage with you – a national challenge

Take the garbage with you – an initiative that focuses on pro-activist assignments that promote residents` responsibility for waste management of public space. Israeli formal and informal education systems is leading a paradigm shift that will raise among future generations 21st century skills (critical thinking, creativity, motivation, self-efficacy, metacognition and more). These skills will form the basis for developing personal responsibility to avoid leaving a harmful footprint in the environment. Until now the emphasis was on the responsibility of the cleaners after the those who litter. Now the emphasis is changing. Once the emphasis is on developing personal responsibility "not to pollute" the serious environmental damage to the environment which destroys ecosystems will be prevented. The development of 21st century skills, together with the development of personal responsibility and social solidarity will form an infrastructure for handling the other climate change challenges facing humanity.
