Development and Evaluation of Evidence-based Intervention Programs for Children with Developmental Disabilities Living in Low Resource Settings

The lecture will focus on an ongoing UNICEF project aiming at developing a universal program of early identification, inclusion, and intervention for children with developmental disabilities. It will start describing the global state of children with disabilities and the challenges they and their families are facing. It will identify fundamental principles underlying the program and describe the international work to develop evidence-based guidelines and finally show how this program is adapted, implemented, and evaluated in three different low- and middle-income countries.
