ESCRTs at different scales

Knowing the structure of proteins and protein complexes is key for elucidating their function.
Over the past decade we have applied a battery of advanced microscopy techniques to unravel mode-of-operation of one of the most evolutionary conserved cellular machinery – the ESCRT membrane remodeling machinery. The results obtained for ESCRTs, using the different imaging modalities will be presented and discussed, highlighting the advantages and limitations of each technique.
