Introduction: Despite still being a recent topic, there has been a growth in the number of professionals dedicated to the field of Bilingual language therapy in Brazil. Objective: to identify and determine the professionals understanding of bilingual language therapy. Method: online form.. Results: XXXX answers. The results provided a framework on the service to the deaf who use Sign Language in Brazil. It was possible to find a gap in this field. Despite individual and isolated actions in distinct parts of Brazil that break with the prevailing thinking within Language Therapy in relation to the deaf, the oral approach, there is still much to be done. It is necessary to guarantee training and clear guidance about bilingualism for the Deaf between professionals already active in the market and for those still in training. Furthermore, it is necessary that the professional feel helped and welcomed in conducting a new, but scientifically coherent and consistent practice. It is necessary that more professionals feel encouraged to review paradigms. In this way, professionals may be able to analyze the deaf patient not for the lack of something, but for the different way of being: a subject of and in language.
