
Introduction: Developmental stuttering is a fluency disorder that chronically affects around two million Brazilians. Among the treatment approaches in stuttering in adults are the methods of fluency shaping and stuttering modification. Speech self-monitoring consists of the individual’s ability to perceive their own speech at the time of production. Objective: To develop the functionalities of an application that provides self- comprehension of the communicative performance of adults who stutter and who are undergoing speech therapy. Method: Applied research with the technological development of an application prototype, in which a bibliographic survey was carried out on developmental stuttering, the therapy applied to it, self-monitoring of speech and scales for measuring attitude. Results: Through the theoretical basis, the appropriate functionalities to the application were defined, and the development process of the prototype was initiated in partnership with a software development company and an art and design professional. Conclusion: the prototype was presented with the functionalities designed by the researchers and the fluency specialists, through the study and the possibility of development by the partner company, requiring usability tests to be carried out with the target audience, for subsequent registration and availability of the application to users.
