I will present how a new field of research that links concepts in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering has revolutionized our understanding of quantum materials. The field of Topological States of Matter shows that esoteric mathematical ideas find their way in the quantum world of physics. Moreover, with the use of solid-state Chemistry, these ideas transcend the theoretical realm and find realization in many new materials. Such realizations can then pave the way for applications, such as Quantum Computers, Low-energy devices, Catalysis, Thermo-electrics, and many others.
